John McKay
John McKay, a Bradenton real estate broker and former State Senate president, is a sixth generation Floridian. He was first elected State Senator in 1990 representing District 26, which includes Manatee, Hardee, DeSoto, Highlands and Sarasota Counties. During Senator McKay's tenure in the Florida Senate, he has served as chairman of diverse committees such as the Committee on Rules and Calendar, the Committee on Commerce and Economic Opportunities, the Committee on Health and Rehabilitative Services, and the Select Committee on Litigation Reform.
