LeRoy Collins Institute Releases Educational Animated Video on the Florida Constitution Revision Commission
- Fun and informative video features Sandy D’Alemberte as the main character -
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Today the LeRoy Collins Institute (LCI), in conjunction with the Partnership for Revising Florida’s Constitution, released a new animated video as part of its efforts to educate and engage Floridians in the 2017-2018 Florida Constitution Revision Commission. The educational video features Talbot “Sandy” D'Alemberte, former chairman of the 1977-1978 Florida Constitution Revision Commission, as the main character explaining what the Constitution Revision Commission is, how citizens can get involved and why their participation is so important. The LeRoy Collins Institute partnered with Alison Johnson, a recent master’s graduate from the Florida State University College of Communications, to write and produce the video.
“We are delighted to make available information on the upcoming Constitution Revision Commission in this fun and informative way,” said Dr. Carol Weissert, Director of the LeRoy Collins Institute. “It is our hope the animated video will encourage and empower the citizens of Florida to get involved in this very important process, which only happens once every 20 years.”
The Partnership for Revising Florida’s Constitution is led by the LeRoy Collins Institute and is comprised of 18 groups across the state. The Partnership launched a public education campaign in October 2015 to get citizens involved in the upcoming Constitution Revision Commission. Funding for the project has been generously provided by the Jessie Ball duPont Fund.
